Apple on Monday released iTunes 4.8, the latest release of their digital jukebox and commercial music download software. The software is available for download from Apple’s Web site.
Apple offers scant details about what has changed in iTunes 4.8, but in the Read me file that accompanies the installer, the company noted that iTunes 4.8 “includes new Music Store features and support for transferring contacts and calendars from your computer to your iPod (requires Mac OS X version 10.4 on your computer).”
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later, G3/400MHz or faster, QuickTime 6.2 or later (6.5.2 required for some features) and 256MB RAM. Apple recommends a broadband connection for buying or streaming music.
