The 2nd MacGathering for Southern California kicks off on Friday at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood with all-day classes, including a free three-hour class about using Virtual PC and Entourage. The event also plans two days of exhibits, feature presentations and classes. Stand-up comedian and celebrity Sinbad — himself a frequent visitor to Macworld Expos — will deliver the show’s keynote, and in the spirit of “think[ing] different[ly],” it’ll happen mid-day on the closing day.
“We’ve got classes for Beginners, Geeks, Creative folks, and Business,” says MacGathering coordinator Deb Shadovitz, “and the folks teaching these classes are no schlumps.” More than 32 seminars are planned, including coverage of Tiger, which will be in the classrooms, on the expo floor, and in a special event on Saturday night.
