Sawblade Software has announced Power Game Factory, a new tool that lets those even without programming experience create their own side-scrolling action games. Powered by REAL Software’s REALbasic, Power Game Factory is coming this Spring.
Power Game Factory touts features like high-res sprite-based graphics and realistic physics. The developer notes that no restraints are placed on would-be game designers on the number of levels, characters, weapons or items their games can use. And once you’ve configured your game the way you want, you can compile it into a self-contained application you can sell without paying royalties.
Power Game Factory will cost US$44, and ships on CD bundled with Greenland Invasion, a sample game project. Included will be a six-step beginner’s tutorial to help you get started, along with a 190 page user’s manual, extra level background graphics and game music.
