Mac game publisher Aspyr Media Inc. on Thursday unveiled a new corporate look in the form of a new logo. The company is offering a contest to help come up with “aspyrations” to match the new logo. Aspyr is offering prizes including an iPod, iPod shuffle, one of fifteen t-shirts, and one of five copies of Aspyr’s The Sims 2 game. Winners will be drawn randomly and announced in the company’s June newsletter, which will be distributed to subscribers the week of June 20th. The deadline to enter is June 10, 2005.
The theme of the contest is “What do you ‘Aspyr’ to do?’”
“We’ve tossed around a few ideas here – for example, we ‘Aspyr’ to entertain the world … to set a good example … to create products that rule … to say please and thank you … to make Mom proud … to Wang Chung tonight … etc. Get the idea? Now we’re asking for your help,” said the company in a statement.
Aspyr Media president Michael Rogers explained the goal behind the new corporate logo in a comment to MacCentral . “Evolving our corporate identity is a statement to the idea that we are always striving to improve. Our logo is a part of our connection with our customers, and we wanted it to reflect Aspyr’s continued desire to reach out and grow our relationships,” he said.
