Keyspan on Wednesday introduced its new USB PS/2 Adapter, a Mac and PC-compatible device that enables a PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse to be connected to a single USB port. It costs US$19.
The USB PS/2 Adapter includes software for Macs called HID Helper — it’s also available for download from the Keyspan Web site. The software lets users map keys on the keyboard to their Mac equivalents. Users can swap Windows alt keys, for example, map media keys to QuickTime, DVD Player and Safari, map F12 to Eject, and map mouse button functions as well. The USB PS/2 Adapter also features a power LED and dual color coded PS/2 connectors.
