Aspyr Media Inc. on Wednesday announced that
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005
for the Macintosh has reached its beta development milestone; it’s currently in development at Aspyr Studios, Aspyr’s in-house game conversion workshop.Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 is expected to be released this July.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 is the latest installment of Electronic Arts’ golf game featuring legendary pro golfers Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan and Arnold Palmer (one of fifteen different real-world PGA golfers in all). New features in this release include “Tiger Proofing,” which lets you alter courses by installing lengthier tees, tighter fairways, adding more contours to greens, deeper bunkers, higher rough and more. “Game Face” lets you create realistic-looking custom golfers complete with non-proportional bone scaling and texture blending.
The game includes eight new licensed courses plus two new “fantasy” courses, in addition to courses you’ve seen before if you’ve played previous installments of the game (Aspyr brought Tiger 2003 to the Mac as well). If you opt for Career mode, you can play to obtain sponsorships from real-world equipment manufacturers, and even gun for Tiger’s top spot on the money list.
Preliminary system requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.6 or later, G4/1GHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 2.5GB free hard disk space, ATI Radeon 8500 or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better 3D graphics with at least 32MB VRAM, and DVD drive. The game is currently available for pre-order for US$39.99.
