Audio application-maker BIAS has released updates for its entire
Peak product line, adding support for Mac OS X Tiger. Peak 4.14 updates are available for Peak Express, Peak LE, Peak DV and Peak.
In addition to Tiger support, Peak 4.14 has a new Core Audio drive and it fixed a problem where recording with a USB device in Tiger resulted in “clock noise” and required users to use an aggregate device as a workaround. BIAS has also narrowed the hardware buffer size range as some of the previous allowable values could cause instability.
New features in the update include “Auto Detect Regions,” which will split a recording into sections automatically. A new feature allows AIFF files with loops to turn the loop flag inside the file on or off by turning Peak’s Play Loop option on or off before saving the file.
More information on the long list of new features and bug fixes is included with the update, which can be
downloaded from the BIAS Web site.
