Roxio — makers of Toast, Jam and Popcorn — on Monday announced a publishing agreement with Xingtone that brings Xingtone Ringtone Maker to retail stores in North America. Xingtone Ringtone Maker lets users create and install ringtones on their mobile phones, and it’s available for Mac OS X and Windows PCs.
Xingtone Ringtone Maker lets you convert audio files from your computer or from a CD using over-the-air transmission. It supports more than 100 handsets and works via major U.S. carriers including Sprint PCS, Cingular and T-Mobile (Verizon is supported as well, but it appears the software to do so is only supported on Windows or through Virtual PC at this time). Xingtone Ringtone Maker has been available only as an online download up to now.
Roxio is selling Xingtone Ringtone Maker through its Web site and retail stores for US$19.99. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later. More general information about the software is available from the Xingtone Web site.
