Karelia Software, developer of Watson, has announced a new Web site development tool called Sandvox. Slated for a release in the third calendar quarter of 2005, the new software is aimed at general users who want to post a Web page using intuitive tools, according to the developers.
Sandvox features page layouts built by professional designers, and lets users view their sites in real-time rather than having to navigate through preview panes. The software features rich text editing and drag-and-drop assembly. Optimized for Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger,” Sandvox touts support for Core Image, Spotlight, Safar’s Web Kit and Quartz Composer. The software can also generate RSS feeds automatically, supports custom page coding, and features an extensible plug-in architecture to support new designs and templates as they’re ready.
