GarageGames has acquired game developer BraveTree Productions. BraveTree is the studio that created ThinkTanks, a 3D action game created using GarageGames’ multiplatform Torque Game Engine.
GarageGames licenses its Torque Game Engine technology to independent developers for a small fee. Torque Game Engine is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux operating systems, and has also been shown running on game consoles. GarageGames also publishes Mac games made using the Torque Game Engine, including Marble Blast, Orbz, ThinkTanks and Dark Horizons Lore Invasion.
The BraveTree team members joining GarageGames will focus on the company’s new efforts to bring games to Microsoft’s forthcoming Xbox 360 game console. Xbox 360 is expected to ship in time for the 2005 holiday season.
