Logitech on Wednesday announced its wireless headphones for Apple’s iPod. The headphones work up to 30 feet away from the iPod using a wireless adapter that works using the Bluetooth 1.2 standard. The new headphones are coming in July and will cost US$149.99.
Molded in white plastic with chrome embellishments to complement Apple’s original iPod design, the wireless headphones are compatible with any iPod that uses a Dock Connector — that includes third and fourth-generation iPods and iPod photos and iPod minis.
The Logitech wireless headphones are equipped with 40mm full-range neodymium drivers. Controls on the headphone let users adjust volume as well as control what’s playing, using track forward, track backward, play and pause buttons. The wireless headphones use a behind-the-head headband design and weigh 3.2 ounces (the adapter adds another ounce).
The headphones use rechargeable batteries that last up to eight hours per charge and take about 2.5 hours to fully recharge. The adapter and the headphones can be charged simultaneously using an included AC adapter.
