If you have ever tried to create a hard rock or heavy metal song with Apple’s GarageBand or pro Logic application, you may have found yourself scrolling endlessly through melodic drum beats more suited to a Pop song than a hard pounding metal riff. If that’s the case, Double Bass Mania, a new release by Beta Monkey on Thursday, may be just what you’ve been waiting for.
Described by Beta Monkey founder, Chris Donlon, as “Loud. Fast. Aggressive.” Double Bass Mania includes 13 different groove folders “dedicated to double kick-fueled brutality.” More than 1000 grooves, groove variations, fills, one shots and single hit samples are on the disk separated into blastbeats, classic 80’s metal 16th note and 16th note triplet grooves, mid-tempo nu-metal riffs, broken triplet grooves and fills.
The Double Bass Mania loops are compatible with Garageband, GarageBand 2, Soundtrack and Logic 7/Express 7. The disk costs US$29.99 and is available from the company’s Web site.
