Allume Systems Inc. on Thursday announced Internet Cleanup 3.0 for the Mac. The latest version of Allume’s privacy tool features full support for Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger” and other enhancements. Internet Cleanup 3.0 costs US$29.99. Upgrades cost $14.99. It requires Mac OS X v10.3.
Internet Cleanup provides users with a way of cleaning out their personal information from their Macintosh to prevent what Allume describes as “unscrupulous monitoring.” The software allows you to delete auto-fill data used to fill out Web page forms, e-mail attachments, instant message log files, Web files and other content that you may not want others to see.
New in Internet Cleanup 3.0 is a Scheduler tool that lets you schedule tasks to automatically perform searches and cleaning actions. The user interface has been redesigned for ease of use. MailCleaner now supports Apple’s Mail software, and features fast Entourage e-mail attachment searching. It also works with Eudora and Outlook. NetBlockade and Network SpyAlert have been updated to work with Tiger and now fully-supports fast-user switching.
The Internet File Finder Tool adds support for Web browsers including Firefox, Camino, Mozilla, Shiira and OmniWeb. It also adds a new forms auto-fill data cleaner search, control over which browsers’ files are searched for and where, and an improved Cookie Editor. Many other changes have been made, as well.
