US Modular on Tuesday introduced its 100 gigabyte external “Dragon Drive” hard disk. The drive uses USB 2.0 and FireWire to communicate with a Mac or PC and uses a 2.5-inch hard disk drive mechanism. It measures 5.51 x 3.15 x 0.63 inches and weighs 4.6 ounces. The pocket-sized drive draws power through the data interfaces, so it doesn’t require an external AC adapter. It comes with three-foot USB 2.0 and FireWire cables. US Modular plans to ship the 100GB Dragon Drive in July for US$279. It’s compatible with Mac OS and various flavors of Windows. US Modular’s Web site was not updated with information about the new Dragon Drive as MacCentral posted this article.
