Freeverse Software on Thursday announced it’s shipping X2: The Threat in North America. The game puts you in command of interstellar starships as you forge your own path through the universe.
X2: The Threat is a single-player 3D action game in which you decide how your role will evolve and change. You can command a space freighter, hauling valuable commodities to different star systems. Or you can become the admiral of a fleet of huge destroyers, creating a path of destruction as you maraud the space lanes. The game features dozens of interlinked missions, 70 different ship types, myriad different weapons, commodities to trade and barter and an arcing storyline.
System requirements call for a G4/1.25GHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 2GB hard disk space, and an ATI Radeon 7000 or Nvidia GeForce3 or faster 3D graphics chip. X2: The Threat costs US$39.95. It’s published by Virtual Programming Ltd., but Freeverse is handling North American retail distribution.
