MacPractice Inc. has released MacPractice MD, DC and DDS v1.5, healthcare management practice software for physicians, chiropractors and dentists, respectively. The new release of the Mac OS X application suite adds e-claims and scheduling capabilities, and a new word processing capabilities are coming later in July. Also new in this release is perio charting and other enhancements.
MacPractice Scheduling works in conjunction with Apple’s iCal software, to let doctors and dentists use an iPod, phone, Palm-based PDA or PowerBook to manage their own schedule of appointments.
The e-claims functionality allows MacPractice users to review their patients’ online eligibility verification, claim tracking, electronic referrals, insurance estimation and claims transmission over the Internet, either using broadband or dialup access.
Introductory pricing for a single-user version MacPractice MD is $2,000; MacPractice DDS and DC start at $1,500. Networked versions cost $500 per 5 users.
