Mesa Dynamics on Tuesday announced the release of Amnesty Widget Browser 1.0, a utility that enables users to run Dashboard widgets directly from their desktop, rather than depending on the Dashboard environment itself. Amnesty Widget Browser 1.0 costs US$19.95.
Because Amnesty Widget Browser allows users to run widgets free of Dashboard itself, this allows many widgets to be run from Mac OS X v10.3.9 as well. Some widgets, such as the ones that Apple includes with Tiger, are neither available nor supported under Panther, according to Mesa Dynamics.
Widgets can maintain their own preferences. And Amnesty Widget Browser also features adjustable window levels (desktop, standard or floating) and opacity. Widgets can even be arranged in multiple “virtual workspaces” that you can recall when you want.
