SubRosaSoft LLC on Thursday introduced its fourth generation of FileSalvage, the company’s data recovery software for Mac OS X. The new version adds a file preview mode and supports more file formats. SubRosaSoft has also released a free trial version.
FileSalvage retrieves files that have been deleted or may reside on currpted media. It works with hard drives, USB keys, PC and Linux disks, flash media, CDs, DVDs and just about anything else your Mac can recognize. This new release uses a new data recovery engine that works faster, according to SubRosaSoft. New file format support includes JPEG, MP3, Safari bookmarks, QuarkXPress, QuickBooks, Photoshop and RAW camera file formats.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later. Upgrades from FileSalvage 2.0 and 3.0 are free. FileSalvage costs US$89.95 on CD-ROM, $79.95 for download only.
