Logitech on Monday introduced its new Wireless Headphones for MP3 — headphones that work with any MP3 or CD player, including the iPod, plugging into the standard 3.5-mm headphone jack. The company also introduced the Identity Headphones for MP3 and the Curve Headphones for MP3. Look for them for US$129.99, $39.99 and $29.99 respectively. Details on all the new products are available on Logitech’s iPod/MP3 Accessories Web site.
Similar to Logitech’s already-introduced Wireless Headphones for iPod, the new Wireless Headphones for MP3 use Bluetooth 1.2 wireless technology to provide up to a 30 foot range from the iPod or music player. The headphones tout integrated volume controls, frequency-hopping technology and 40mm full-range neodymium drivers. The rechargeable batteries last for eight hours per charge. Look for them in July. Unlike Logitech’s iPod-specific offering, however, the Wireless Headphones for MP3 are molded in black and cost $20 less.
Logitech’s new Identity Headphones feature four changeable color plates to allow users to change the color of their headphones to suit their mood or their outfit. They feature a behind-the-head design. The new Identity Headphones are coming to the U.S. and Europe in September.
Logitech’s Curve Headphones are aimed at “active” mobile music listeners; they’re made from translucent polycarbonate and are water-resistant, lightweight and durable. “Comfort rings” provide a stable fit during activities. They’re coming in August.
