CrystalMaker Software Ltd. has released CrystalMaker 7.0, a new version of their crystal and molecular structures software for Mac OS X. The new version features a more flexible engine that can handle more complex atomic structures to be displayed an manipulated on screen.
It’s priced starting at US$429, and upgrades are also available starting at $179. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later.
CrystalMaker 7.0’s new engine improve speed and reduces memory overheads, according to the developer. Also new in this release is the ability to visual “thermal ellipsoids,” displayed in photo-realistic, translucent or stylized representations. Keyboard shortcuts have been added for screen tools, users can custom-define polyhedral generation, there’s a revised program interface and newly optimized tools for molecular crystals.
