Tivoli Audio has adapted its proven SongBook design to a new product called the iSongBook, a new music system designed especially for Apple’s iPod that includes an AM/FM radio receiver, stereo sound and remote control capabilities. Look for it for US$329.99, available in late fall.
Incorporating a “flip down” docking station for the iPod, the iSongBook can recharge the iPod’s battery as well. A digital AM/FM tuner can accommodate five AM and five FM station presets, has a telescoping antenna and backlit blue LCD display that shows the time, alarm and station setting.
The iSongBook also features a detachable secondary speaker with six-foot audio cable with rewind mechanism so you can properly position it for stereo sound, but it’s small enough to fit in a backpack or briefcase, measuring 6 3/16 x 11 1/16 x 2 3/16 inches. The housing also sports auxiliary input and stereo headphone output jacks covered with rubber to protect them from the elements. A credit card-sized remote can control the iSongBook and the iPod when docked.
The iSongBook works on AA alkaline batteries or NiMH/NiCad rechargeable batteries using the built-in charger. An AC adapter or 12 volt power source will also work. Tivoli Audio’s Web site was not updated with info about the iSongBook as Playlist posted this news.
