Belkin Inc. is adding to its 802.11g wireless networking line with the Belkin Wireless G Travel Router, a $59.99 accessory for road warriors looking for wireless networking while they travel. It’s coming in August.
The Wireless G Travel Router — Belkin model no. F5D7233, features support for the IEEE 802.11g wireless networking standard, known to Mac users as AirPort Extreme. 802.11g is downwardly compatible with the slower 802.11b, or AirPort, networking technology.
Belkin makes the Wireless G Travel Router able to work as a wireless adapter — enabling you to use to from a hotel room or Wi-Fi hotspot, for example, or to extend the coverage area of an existing network. It supports router, adapter and access point modes. A travel kit is included.
Belkin’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new Wireless G Travel Router as MacCentral posted this article.
