Over the Edge has released Unity v1.0.4, a new version of the company’s 3D game engine software. Unity is what powers Gooball, the 3D action game published by Ambrosia Software.
Since Unity 1.0.2, changes include scripting improvements, bug fixes that correct issues related to GeForce 5200 graphics chips, the Firefox Web browser and Dashboard Widgets. Unity 1.0.4 specifically corrects issues related to first-time installation of Unity-made Widgets — if you’re not planning on using Unity to make widgets, there’s no need to update.
Unity 1.0.4 is a free update for registered users. It costs US$249 for Unity “Indie or $999 for “Pro,” which adds render to texture effects, secured deployment and other features. A 15 day unlimited trial version of Unity Indie is available for download.
