PhotoVu LLC on Wednesday introduced its PV1945 19-inch digital picture frame. The device costs US$999, and is built around a 19-inch LCD panel and the ability to display digital images over a wireless computer network.
Although it looks like a normal picture on your wall — PhotoVu even includes a custom frame and mat to match your room’s decor — the PV1945 is actually a digital picture frame capable of displaying digital content either from another computer on the network or from an optional 40GB internal hard disk drive or through using a USB “key” drive.
The PV1945 can work with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Apple iPhoto 5 photo management software, and can also be mounted in place use VESA mounting hardware. You can control the PV1945 from Wb browser software, configuring photo show options and more.
Other devices in PhotoVu’s product line include the $799 PV1750 17-inch display and $1,199 PV1950 19-inch display — the PV1950 has a higher contrast ratio and wider viewing angles than its less expensive counterpart.
