Berkeley, Calif.-based MacWireless.com has announced a three-port Powerline network adapter. The device lets users use the electrical wiring in their home or office to extend the range of their Ethernet network, transferring data at up to 14 Megabits per second and works through up to 600 feet of electrical wiring. The adapter costs US$79.98.
The three-port adapter works the same way as MacWireless.com’s $49.98 single-port adapter, but features a three port switch instead. It also incorporates built-in surge protection. The device works wtih all HomePlug-compliant PNA-compatible devices, works with electrical systems worldwide and doesn’t conflict with X10 devices that use the same power lines, according to the company.
