Minneapolis, Minn.-based Mariner Software Inc. on Friday announced the release of MacJournal 3.1.2, the latest version of the Mac OS X journaling application. New in the 3.1.2 release is support for “Spotlight,” the vaunted search capability of Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.” Other changes have been made too. A free update for registered 3.x users, MacJournal costs $24.95.
MacJournal lets you crate a personal journal, record daily ideas, manage scripts and novels, generate blogs and more. Mariner Software bills the software as “the modern day substitute for the pen and paper.” You can password protect or encrypt your journal entries for privacy, blog your entries to .Mac accounts and more.
Other new features in this release include bug fixes for registration and locking when nested inside another journal; new preferences to disable automatic list discovery and changing the first day of the week displayed in the calendar; improved HTML exporting and list support, Italian language support and more.
