When last we met I passed along AppleScript product manager Sal Soghoian’s script for creating an instant Spotlight trigger. Based on response to this script in Macworld’s forums, Sal has put together a Search applet that makes the process even easier. It works this way:
Launch his Search applet and, in the resulting dialog box, click the Specifiers button. In the pop-up list that appears, Command-click to select multiple specifiers—Date:Today and Kind:Document, for example—and click OK. Click Search and Spotlight launches, the specifiers are entered in the Spotlight field, and the results appear below.
