Red Marble Games has released Loonyland for Mac OS X. It’s an action/adventure game in the classic “Zelda” style, in which you as Loony Lunatic must save the land of Halloween Hill from characters like werewolves, skeletons, trees that belch gas, fire toads, zombies and more. A downloadable demo will give you an idea of what the full game, which costs US$19.95, has to offer.
The game features 60 different monsters and 50 areas to explore. More than 30 secrets can be unlocked, and seven “special weapons” will help you defeat boss monsters. Red Marble’s Mac conversion is based on an original Windows game developed by Hamumu Software. Specific Mac system requirements were not posted on the Red Marble Web site, but the demo measures 4.6MB.
A system of short side quests in which you must do things like rescue a kitten from a forest, find monster dolls and potions, and more. It’s rendered from an overhead perspective and features comical animations. The full game also includes added features like unlockable extra games.
