Sony Corp. will soon add a new model to its T-series range of thin digital still cameras, the company said Monday.
The camera has several features in common with other models in the T-series range, including 5.1-megapixel resolution, a 3X optical zoom lens, a 2.5-inch LCD screen, 32M bytes of internal memory ,and a slot for Memory Stick memory cards.
Size-wise it measures 93.6 millimeters by 60 mm by 20.3 mm, which makes it slightly thicker than the top-of-the-range T-series camera, the DSC-T7. It weighs 136 grams with the battery, which is about the same as the DSC-T7.
Battery life has been improved over previous T-series cameras to last 240 shots per charge, said Sony.
It will be available in the U.S. in September and will cost US$350. Initially, a silver model will be launched and Sony will follow in October with versions in red, champagne, gold and black. Availability for other regions was not announced by the company.
