Bare Bones Software on Wednesday released BBEdit 8.2.3, an update to their popular HTML and text editing software for Mac OS X. The new release runs natively as a “Universal Binary” on PowerPC-based Mac hardware and on Apple’s Intel-based “Developer Translation Kit” hardware.
Also new in this release is syntax coloring and function navigation for Objective C++. Various fixes have been made to address reported issues, and minor interface refinements and enhancements have also been made.
BBEdit features edit, search and text manipulation features. You can search and replace across multiple files, use function navigation tools and syntax coloring. FTP and SFTP open and save is supported, and BBEdit can integrate with AppleScript, perl and Unix scripting. It costs US$199 or $129 for TextWrangler, GoLive and Dreamweaver users.
BBEdit 8.2.3 requires Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later and is free for registered BBEdit 8 users. You can download the update from BBEdit’s Web site.
