Griffin Technology on Friday released the PowerJolt, a US$24.99 automobile charger that powers up the Apple iPod, iPod mini, and iPod shuffle. It includes a status LED and a 48-inch “Dock Connector” cable.
With a USB connector built right into the PowerJolt, it’s ideal for the iPod shuffle — a shuffle can be plugged right into it to power up. The 48-inch cable touts a Dock Connector on one end and a USB connector on the other — that way, it can be used with fourth-generation monochrome iPods, color iPods, iPod minis, and iPod photos. Because third-generation iPods can’t be charged over USB, it’s not compatible with these models.
