Scosche Industries on Monday announced its Bluetooth wireless interface for Apple’s iPod and other MP3 players. The device allows an iPod to connect to an auto stereo or a home entertainment system wirelessly, using Bluetooth technology.
Scosche’s Bluetooth interface for iPods work with third and fourth generation iPods and iPod minis and aftermarket car stereos with RCA inputs. Included with the $249.99 car kit is a 12 volt car charger, rechargeable transmitter, and cables. It’s coming in mid-August.
Using the same Bluetooth transmitter, users will be able this fall to buy Scosche’s $129.99 home receiver kit to connect their iPod to a home entertainment system (the company will also make a complete Bluetooth wireless kit for the home for $249.99). The receiver is powered by a standard AC outlet.
Bluetooth 1.2 compliant, the wireless transmitter and receiver can work up to 30 feet away from each other. The transmitter has a 15-hour battery life.
