Aspyr Media Inc. on Tuesday announced that it’s shipping the Macintosh version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005. The game puts you in the shoes of Tiger Woods, other PGA pros and custom golfers you can create yourself. Available for US$39.99, the game has been rated “E” for “Everyone” by the ESRB.
Aspyr licensed the game from EA. Aspyr Studios, the company’s internal game development team, converted it to the Mac. Aspyr last brought the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise to the Mac in 2003. Changes to the game since then include even more realistic physics and graphics, a new “Tiger Proofing” feature that lets you modify course dynamics by adding longer tees, tighter fairways, adjusting the contours of greens, expanding bunkers and traps and more.
While you can play as legendary PGA golfers like Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan and many others, the game also touts “Game Face,” which lets you create custom golfers. In fact you’ll need create your own golfer and put him or her through his or her paces in order to unlock new features and capabilities in the game. Game Face lets you customize your golfer straight down to features like non-proportional bone scaling and texture blending — you can even put bags under your golfer’s eyes.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.8 or later, G4/1.2GHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 2.5GB hard disk space, ATI Radeon 9000 or Nvidia GeForce FX5200 or better 3D graphics with at least 32MB VRAM and DVD drive.
