Numark Industries LLC has announced that its iDJ — a two-channel mixer that enables mobile DJs to use their Apple iPods as source playback devices — will be available in October. The suggested retail price will be US$399.
Measuring 11.3 x 11.5 x 2.6 inches and weighing 4 pounds, the iDJ features two docking stations that work with any second-generation or newer iPod except for the iPod shuffle. While they’re plugged in the iPod batteries are charged as well.
The iDJ has a 1/4-inch microphone input with gain and tone controls, two stereo line inputs — one for each channel. Outputs include Master and Record RCA, S-Video and 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch headphone jacks.
USB connectivity lets you plug the iDJ into a Mac or PC, to act as a “music-loading base,” according to the manufacturer. There’s a turntable spindle receptacle, also.
