Panic’s Usenet newsreader for Mac OS X, Unison, has been updated to version 1.6.3. A free update for registered users, Unison costs US$24.95 to buy — a 15-day trial download is also available.
The new release gains a variety of improvements, among them new regular expression or “regex” matching, IPv6 support, improved keyboard navigation, better attachment handling and more.
Usenet is a collection of bulletin boards called “newsgroups” covering every conceivable topic. It’s been an inextricable part of the Internet for the past 25 years. Users can exchange comments in specific newsgroups, and many also use Usenet as a method of exchanging and downloading files.
If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) lacks a Usenet feed and you’re interested in participating, Panic also makes available Unison Usenet Access, a Usenet access service that provides subscribers with up to 10GB of file transfer per month for $11.95 per month.
