Pressure Drop on Wednesday announced the DecoDock Lava Edition, a device that connects an Apple iPod shuffle to a Mac or PC. The Lava Edition features a glossy black base and glowing red LEDs, according to the manufacturer, who plans to offer it in limited quantities. The DecoDock Lava Edition costs US$28.99.
The Deco Dock, designed for Apple’s 512MB and 1GB iPod shuffles, provides a USB interface that can sit on your desk away from the USB ports themselves — it includes a six-foot USB 2.0 cable. An integrated cap holder holds the iPod shuffle’s cap, and the dock features white LEDs on either side of the iPod shuffle and an arcing base. It measures 4 x 4 x 2.1 inches.
Pressure Drop calls the design style they’ve employed for the DecoDock “Art-Techo,” combining elements of Art Deco design with technological elements. In addition to the DecoDock Lava Edition, Pressure Drop offers the regular DecoDock with white illumination in blue, black, silver, white, pink and green base colors.
