Griffin Technology Inc. on Monday introduced the TuneBox, a speaker system for Apple’s iPod shuffle. The device costs US$39.99.
TuneBox nestles the iPod shuffle between two small speakers that include 2 drivers each. The iPod shuffle’s control wheel remains visible and accessible, and it connects using a 3.5mm jack. Because the iPod shuffle uses a conventional headphone jack to send audio to the TuneBox, the TuneBox is also compatible with any other MP3 player or audio device that has a standard stereo jack.
The TuneBox measures 4.32 x 2.44 x 4.4 inches, and it includes an AC adapter. It provides total power output of 2+2 watts.
