on Tuesday announced the release of CERF-Notebook 2.4 Xserve Edition. The Collaborative Electronic Research Framework (CERF) is a scientific content management and record-keeping system; the Xserve Edition is specifically designed for biology labs and organizations of 10 to 500 CERF users, according to the developer.
CERF-Notebook provides mechanisms for version control and metadata tagging. Actions are defined by OWL ontologies that control what you can do with specific resources. You can also configure forms and templates to standardize how data is entered. You can also add digital signatures, integrate with Microsoft Office and more.
CERF-Notebook costs $150 per user to lease or $1000 per user to purchase, with volume and academic discounts available.
