Game Savant has released the Mac version of a new puzzle game called Dr. Germ. Available for download from the Funpause Web site, Dr. Germ costs US$19.95 to register.
Dr. Germ is looking for a new assistant, and it’s up to you to impress him by experimenting with “germeology” to earn science awards on your way to becoming a world-famous researcher in your own right. You can compete in four different game modes: “Research,” which plays out like a classic collapsing puzzle game, “Gene Splice” and “Petri Dish,” which are color-matching games, and “Stranded DNA,” which is a swap and match puzzle game. An autosave feature tracks your progress and lets you pick up the same game later.
System requirements call for a G3/400MHz or faster, 128MB RAM, 40MB hard disk space, and Mac OS X. A downloadable demo is available; your total play time is restricted to 30 minutes and no online high scores are available.
