SmileOnMyMac’s disclabel software has been updated to version 2.4. The new version is available for download and costs US$29.95 to register; upgrades from the previous version are free. Disclabel is a CD and DVD labeling utility for Mac OS X that requires Mac OS X v10.2.5 or later.
New to this release is support for LightScribe, a direct-to-disc labeling technology that, when used with LightScribe-compatible burners and media, enables users to burn images and text directly to the top of the disc itself rather than using an inkjet printer.
Also new to this release are filters that allow users to apply Core Image effects to their artwork. Core Image is a feature of Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.” Also new in version 2.4 is Spotlight support. Spotlight is Tiger’s new find feature. The LightScribe Core Image and Spotlight support are Tiger-only features. Other enhancements and bug fixes have also been made.
