S. Melbourne, Australia’s Digital Voodoo has introduced a new QuickTime-compatible video capture card called the SD|Spark. The US$1,495 is aimed at boutiques and studio video pros looking for a Standard Definition (SD) card with Serial Digital Interface (SDI) and other connectors.
The card features 10/12 bit SD SDI input and output, 12-bit analog component, composite and S-Video input and output, a built-in analog/digital digital/analog converter, DV, DVC Pro, DVC Pro 50, Photo JPEG input and output, two channels of balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog audio, embedded audio input and output and eight-channel of SPDIF audio input and output.
The card supports Final Cut Pro HD’s RT Extreme, so you can use the card to watch real-time playback of effects including three-way color correction, additive dissolves and cross dissolves. It’s compatible with Shake, Combustion, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. It’s compatible with Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther” and v10.4 “Tiger,” and supports QuickTime 6.5.2 or higher and the latest Power Mac G5 systems.
