Apple Computer on Tuesday updated its Xserve RAID 3U rack storage system to deliver 7 Terabytes of capacity. The company also updated its Xserve 1U rack server with the ability to have up to three 500GB drives for 1.5TB of storage.
Designed with 14 independent 500GB Ultra ATA drive channels the Xserve RAID offers sustained throughput of over 385MBps, according to Apple. Xserve RAID is certified to run in Mac OS X, Windows, NetWare, SUSE and Red Hat Linux environments.
Prices for Xserve start at $2,999 and prices for Xserve RAID start at $5,999.
