Lismore Software Systems has released Guest PC v1.6, an update to their software-based PC emulator for Mac OS X. The new version of Guest PC is a free update for registered users and costs US$69.99 for new users. That price includes a “family license” that lets you install the software on all the computers in your family.
Guest PC emulates the inner workings of an x86-based PC inside your Mac. It doesn’t come bundled with an operating system; you can use it with a separately available retail copy of Windows, and makes it possible to run Windows-compatible software on your Mac.
New to this release of guest PC is the ability to copy and paste text and drag and drop files between Mac OS X and Windows. Shared mouse support has been improved in Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP, and Dutch and Spanish localization has been added as well. Stability and compatibility has been improved in this release, and bug fixes have been made for shutdown in Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP.
System requirements call for a G3 or better, and Mac OS X v10.3 or later.
