WiebeTech LLC on Wednesday introduced three new “fly away” drive imaging kits developed for investigators and others to help them image hard drives in the field. The kits bundle WiebeTech’s Combo Adapters and other accessories in Pelican cases with custom cut foam. Prices range from US$599.95 to $999.95 depending on accessories, and WiebeTech plans on shipping them by the end of September.
WiebeTech’s Combo Adapters enable its ComboDock to work with different drive types. The ComboDock lets you connect a raw drive to a computer using FireWire 400 or FireWire 800. The Combo Adapters support everything from MicroDrives and Compact Flash adapters to 1.8-inch Toshiba hard drives, 2.5-inch notebook drives and more.
ADA-KIT-2 includes six adapters and the case. The $749.95
ADA-KIT-3, aimed at IT personnel, includes six adapters, the ComboDock, power supply, cables and case. The $999.95
FFK-9 kit is similar to the ADA-KIT-3, but is customized for forensic investigators — it includes a Forensic ComboDock, which is write-blocked to prevent the source drive from being written to.
