Belkin Corp. on Monday announced its new TuneBase for Apple’s iPod shuffle. The company also detailed which products in its iPod accessory line work with Apple’s new iPod nano model.
The US$39.99 TuneBase charges and powers the iPod shuffle from an automobile cigarette lighter or accessory jack. It features a 3.5mm line-out jack suitable for connecting to a cassette adapter, Belkin’s TuneCast II FM transmitter, or auxiliary input jack. It uses a swivel-cradle design. The TuneBase is coming in November.
Belkin also announced that many of its iPod accessories are compatible with the iPod nano, Apple’s new flash memory-based digital music player. Among the Belkin devices that work with the nano are the Auto Kit for iPod with Dock Connector, available in both black and white; the TuneCast II Mobile FM Transmitter; the Cassette Adapter; Auto Power Cord for iPod with Dock Connector; mini-stereo audio cable; mini-stereo extension cable; y audio cable; stereo link cable; headphone splitter and speaker and headphone splitter.
Belkin said it plans to introduce new iPod nano accessories in October.
