ArKaos has announced support for Tiger’s Core Image technology in the new release of ArKaos VJ 3.5.1 HW. The new release of the popular video jockeying (VJ) application for Mac OS X utilizes a new processing pipeline to take advantage of graphics hardware present in new Macs.
The developers describe ArKaos VJ as “a software-based visual synthesizer” through which visual artists can create live visual performances. It can mix video from multiple sources with 2D and 3D effects, adding layers of luminance and chrominance and other graphical effects. You can display Flash animations with editable text.
The new release adds 73 new Core Image-based effects, including Blur, Stylize, generates, half-tone, distortion and more, and extends the already included DMX support, enabling VJ’s to trigger additional banks of visuals using DMX-compatible lighting consoles.
ArKaos VJ costs US$335.
