Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO) on Wednesday introduced the HomeDock for Apple’s iPod, iPod mini and iPod nano. The HomeDock connects to home stereos and theater systems, providing charging and connectivity, and comes with a 14-function remote control. It’s coming in October for US$99.99.
The iPod plugs into the HomeDock using the dock connector. The HomeDock includes RCA jacks to connect to a home amplifier, and DLO provides an RCA-to-mini adapter to hook up to powered speakers. The remote control lets you control volume, playback, skip tracks, advanced playlists and control the iPod’s backlighting.
The HomeDock also lets you connect to a television using composite or S-Video cables, so you can display photo slideshows on your TV from photo-capable iPods. The remote control also lets you control slideshow playback.
The HomeDock doubles as a USB 2.0-based Mac and PC-compatible dock, so you can plug it into your computer if you’d like. It includes an AC adapter to power and charge your iPod while docked.
