Pleasanton, Calif.-based Prosoft Engineering Inc. on Thursday announced the release of Data Rescue II for Mac OS X. The data recovery software requires Mac OS X v10.3 or later and costs US$99. Users who bought Data Rescue X in 2005 will be able to download a free upgrade; users who bought the software prior to that can buy the upgrade for $65.
The new data recovery software utility sports myriad enhancements over its predecessor, including a new interface, more robust file searching and an enhanced ability to recover deleted items.
Data Rescue II is optimized for Tiger, supports 10 times more file types than Data Rescue X, features a new Deleted Files scan, features faster scanning and recovery and other new features.
