Ten Technology, makers of the naviPro eX and NaviPod remote for Apple’s iPod, has offered details about compatibility with the new iPod nano.
The iPod nano uses the same 30-pin dock connector found on iPods and iPod minis, but Apple has removed the remote control interface and moved the headphone jack from the top to the bottom. This makes the nano incompatible with most FM transmitters and remote controls designed to work with the iPod, for example.
Ten notes that its Bluetooth-based naviPlay adapter and remote work just fine with nano, as does its flexDock — an automobile dock and interface.
Ten Technology CEO John Lin said in a statement that his company is already working on other products that utilize the 30-pin dock connector, so they’ll be compatible with all dock connector-equipped iPods. What’s more, the company plans new products specifically for the iPod nano very soon.
