UK-based Mac game maker Virtual Programming Ltd. on Friday announced the release of Gates of Troy. It’s a turn-based strategy game that’s the sequel to Virtual Programming’s Spartan, set in the Trojan Wars.
Like other Virtual Programming releases, you can buy Gates of Troy directly from Virtual Programming Ltd. and download it, so you don’t have to wait for a game disk to be sent to you. Gates of Troy costs £19.95 (US$35.31) and requires Mac OS X v10.2 or later, 600MB hard disk space, a video system with 16MB VRAM and 128MB system RAM.
Gates of Troy incorporates six campaigns, the ability to control 19 different hero, more than 50 unit types and more. Compared to Spartan, Gates of Troy — which is a standalone sequel, not an add-on or expansion pack — features improved UI design and functionality, numerous diplomacy improvements, improved auto resolution of battles, 12 new units, and more.
